The Vision
Holy Mountain has been a dream of ours, and something we have been taking small steps towards for a long time. To say it simply, our goal was to go from a small brand and work towards a non-profit that functions as a dual purpose archery range/after school program for youth, while also working with individuals and families through the outdoors and outdoor recreation.
Some of the major needs that we have seen in our communities have to do with broken homes, kids being raised without mentors and role models, and kids lacking positive and engaging options for activities. Holy Mountain aims to play a role in restoring these broken systems, and we believe the outdoors is the avenue for that to take place.
One of the original concepts of programming for Holy Mountain aimed to connect fatherless youth with positive male mentors in the outdoor space. We had been seeing the family unit become less and less common in today’s society and serious consequences as a result of it. In a book from W. Bradford Wilcox, he writes that children from broken homes experience worse health, exhibit more aggression, are more likely to engage in criminal activity, have lower academic achievements, and earn less money in adulthood than those raised by stable married parents (Why Marriage Matters, Third Edition). In our own experiences working with youth, we have also learned that both parents in the picture does not guarantee a great life. Without positive influences and positive alternatives, kids are often left in unhealthy situations or patterns. As a result, Holy Mountain has continued to grow and develop our program concepts to bridge those gaps.
Currently, we have accomplished 501(c)3 status and have a goal of going full-time with Holy Mountain. 100% of the profits made from Holy Mountain go directly back into the organization, whether to grow the brand, fund The Vision, or fund initial programming that is taking place.
If you are wanting to help us directly, you can donate by clicking the “Donate to the Vision” button below. 97% (there’s a 3% processing fee we pay) of everything donated will go directly to Holy Mountain and living out our Values.
We know we cannot accomplish this dream alone. We are constantly working to build our network and community and we hope you can partner with us in some way.
Thank you for your support!
