Holy Mountain
Where escape, rest, and solitude are found.
Behind the Name
Throughout Scripture there is reference to the Holy Mountain, Mount Sinai, where the Israelites believed the presence of God physically dwelt.
The foundational verse of Holy Mountain, Psalm 43:3, says, “Send forth your light and your truth, let them guide me; let them bring me to your holy mountain, to the place where you dwell.” Here, the writer, in exile, is desiring to escape the wickedness of the world. The suffering, sorrow, and doubt that they are experiencing. They are wanting to go back to the Holy Mountain where escape and rest can be found.
Today, we know the presence of God is not restricted to a single mountain. Yet, we can find and encounter God in unique ways and places. For us, that place is the outdoors. Our desire is to provide opportunities to share the outdoors with others while building a strong and supportive community.
